June Update

Dear wonderful PMCH family,

June is one of my favourite months, not just because it’s my birthday tomorrow (Galaxy is my favourite chocolate if you were wondering) but also because the days are warmer, brighter, and the cricket season is well underway.

It’s also a significant month for us as a church. Pentecost, which we celebrate this year on June 08, reminds us of the birth of the Church and the fire of the Holy Spirit that empowered the first apostles. At the time of writing, we’re preparing to baptise six people during the morning service and to welcome new members into our church family. I'm very excited about this. These are real signs of God's continued faithfulness among us, even as we’ve navigated some testing times over the past year.

I’m so thankful for each and every one of you. Your presence, prayers, and participation enrich the life of PMCH in countless ways.

Why not take a moment today to thank God for something you’ve seen Him do, in your life or in the life of our church? And let’s also ask Him to stir up fresh expectations for what He may want to do in the months to come.

With every blessing

Jonny

Morning Sermon Series

We have begun a new series at our morning services, tracing the incredible story of Joseph from betrayal to blessing. Through dreams, injustice, and restoration, we'll see how God's sovereign plan unfolds in every circumstance. We hope that through this series you will be encouraged by God's purpose in life's highs and lows. The series will run until Sunday 03 August. If you would like to read ahead of Sunday, the readings can be viewed HERE and you can catch up by watching the last few morning services on YouTube

Thy Kingdom Come | 29 May - 08 June 2025

We have once again joined the global ecumenical prayer movement called “Thy Kingdom Come” that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension Day to Pentecost for God’s renewing power to come to His Church and for more people to come to know Jesus. Specifically, each and every Christian is invited to pray that God’s Spirit might work in the lives of 5 people who have not responded with their “yes” to God’s call.

At PMCH we are focussing our prayers daily between 29 May and 8 June in the Prayer Chapel which will be open during office hours on weekdays. We would love to encourage all of you to take part in some way, to come and pray for an hour in the Prayer Chapel in person, or if that’s too difficult, to allocate a time to pray at home.

Prayer Journals are available from PMCH or you can can download a PDF version and find out more HERE. There are also some useful resources on the Thy Kingdom Come website - www.thykingdomcome.global

Healing Service | Sunday 01 June 7pm

The evening service on Sunday June 01 will focus on prayer for healing. As we remember the depth and power of God’s love for us in Jesus in this quiet, reflective communion service it is a wonderful opportunity to share in prayer together; to bring our hurt and anxiety, our sickness and struggles and to seek God’s forgiveness, healing and comfort.

Prayer Meeting | Wednesday 04 June 7:30pm | PMCH

Our monthly meeting falls right in the middle of our Ten Days of Prayer with Thy Kingdom Come.  We will meet in the Prayer Chapel and there will be a short time of worship alongside time to pray for the renewing of God’s church, this city and our nation.

Baptism Sunday - Sunday 08 June

On the morning of Pentecost Sunday we will be baptising and welcoming some people into membership at PMCH. Please note this service will not be live-streamed but the sermon will be available to watch later in the week on YouTube
