What is Pentecost?
Pentecost marks the moment when the Holy Spirit came upon the first followers of Jesus and empowered them to go out and tell the world about him, starting up an amazing Christian movement that lives on today.
From 29 May we will be joining a global ecumenical prayer movement called “Thy Kingdom Come” that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension Day to Pentecost for God’s renewing power to come to His Church and for more people to come to know Jesus. Specifically, each and every Christian is invited to pray that Gods Spirit might work in the lives of 5 people who have not responded with their “yes” to God’s call.
At PMCH we are focussing our prayers daily between 29 May and 8 June in the Prayer Chapel which will be open during office hours on weekdays.
We would love to encourage all of you to take part in some way, to come and pray for an hour in the Prayer Chapel in person, or if that’s too difficult, to allocate a time to pray at home.
A specially produced Prayer Journals will be distributed to everyone at our services over the next few weeks, or it can be downloaded below. The Journal offer daily Bible verses and prayers on the different aspects and styles of prayer open to us all , hopefully refreshing our desire to pray and to encounter God in new ways. The Prayer Chapel will be laid out in a similar way, encouraging you to pray through the Lord’s Prayer.
