What is Pentecost?

Pentecost marks the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and followers of Jesus Christ.

This year we will join with "Thy Kingdom Come", a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension to Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus.

We do this particularly at this time in the Christian calendar, when we remember how Jesus first disciples were filled with the gift of God's Holy Spirit. They were then empowered to go out and tell the world about Jesus, starting up an amazing Christian movement that lives on today.

Specifically, we invite each and every Christian to pray that Gods Spirit might work in the lives of 5 people who have not responded with their "yes" to God's call

At PMCH we are focussing our prayers daily between 9th and 19th May, from 9am - 9pm in the Prayer Chapel.

We would love to encourage all of you to take part in some way, to sign up to pray for an hour in the Prayer Chapel in person, or if that's too difficult, to allocate a time to pray at home.

Prayer journals will be distributed to everyone over the next few weeks, or they can be downloaded below. They offer daily Bible verses and prayers on the different aspects and styles of prayer open to us all , hopefully refreshing our desire to pray and to encounter God in new ways

This will be an exciting 10 days, let’s do this together and commit to being a part of changing lives for the better and spreading the love of Jesus to as many people as we can!
