March Update

How easy do you find it to make space in your life? Our days can quickly fill up with responsibilities, activities, and the constant presence of others. While community is a gift, there is also a deep need for solitude—time to step away, reflect, and be alone with God.

In a recent staff meeting, one of our team members reminded us of Jesus’ own practice of withdrawing to be alone with His Father. A verse that often goes unnoticed appears at the end of the account of Jesus feeding the five thousand: “Jesus... withdrew again to a mountain by himself” (John 6:15).

That conversation made me reflect: Where is my mountain? Some of you may know that I took a week off in February and spent it in the mountains of Norway with my family and some friends. The beauty surrounding me was breathtaking. While my experience was quite different from that of John 6, standing at a high point and looking out over God’s creation made it impossible not to recognize His glory.

As we enter the season of Lent, would you join me in seeking to find space—to step away from the noise and draw near to God? May this be a time when we press in once again to His presence, listening for His voice and remembering the significance of this season.

And as we journey toward the cross, may we hear God’s perspective more clearly. For at the heart of our faith is another mountain—the hill of Calvary—where the most significant event in history took place.

With love

Jonny

PMCH NEWS

Heatree 2025 YTH Weekend Away

The young people had a fabulous weekend at Heatree Activity Centre on Dartmoor at the end of February. We enjoyed doing archery, tree climbing, night walking, board games and amazing food! Time away together as a group also gave us the opportunity to focus on our faith and allow God to speak to us. We worshipped together and heard about how God loves us, how our names are written on His hands, as well as thinking about the impact we have on people around us. Thank you to those who prayed for us- many prayers were answered and God is so good!

Church Heating

Following a routine inspection, we are sorry to report that the main church heating system has been decommissioned. We are currently working with engineers and suppliers to appraise all the options for a new system and will provide further updates in due course. In the meantime, please be advised that the main church will be without any heating for the coming weeks. All other spaces in the church (which run on different systems) still have heating.

Welcome Leanne!

As many of you will know our Finance and Operations Officer Amber will soon be leaving us to have a baby! Leanne will be covering the admin and finance part of Ambers job and has been working closely with Amber and Viv for the last couple of months to hand over before Amber goes on maternity leave.
