January Update
Dear friends,
Happy New Year! As we step into January together, we want to begin by giving thanks to God and to you for all that has been shared and celebrated over the Christmas season at Plymouth Central Hall.
We are so grateful to all the teams who served so faithfully across so many events. Your time, energy, flexibility, and joy made everything possible. Over the past few weeks we saw thousands of people come through our doors, including hosting external events such as Plymouth University graduations. It has been a real privilege to welcome so many into our building.
Messy Church was, as ever, wonderfully chaotic, full of fun, creativity, and life. It was a joy to see so many families engaging together, and a beautiful reminder of the vibrant community God is building among us.
We begin this new year by fixing our eyes on God through our New Year Prayer Week. We believe prayer sets the tone for all that follows, and we encourage everyone to take part. Resources are available from the Prayer Chapel or HERE on our website.
On 11 January, Jonny will be launching our new sermon series on Ephesians, which will run every Sunday morning and take us right through to Lent. This series follows on from our recent teaching on calling, and will offer practical, encouraging guidance on what to do with that calling, how to use the gifts God gives us in ministry, in our daily lives, and in the wider world.
Thank you for being part of this community, for serving so generously, and for walking into a new year with faith and expectation. We can’t wait to see all that God will do among us in the months ahead.
News from PMCH
The Parlour
The newly refurbished Parlour is something we’re really excited to share. Thanks to the hard work of our amazing property team and friends, the room, designed by Jane Martin has been finished to an incredibly high standard and feels warm and welcoming.
A huge thank you goes to Keith Beswetherick for coordinating this project and to all those who worked long hours to get it all finished in a very short space of time. We’re really looking forward to seeing the Parlour used by church groups and for external events, and we hope it becomes a much loved space for gathering, conversation, and community.
