"I lift my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth". Psalm 121 vs1-2
This Psalm offers helpful assurance as we begin the month of November. I think it is particularly helpful for several reasons. Firstly, as we come to Remembrance Sunday, we are confident to know, that God helps us in times of hardship. And that ultimately God, the Creator is in control, and we can trust his help. This is also true when we know the pain of bereavement. God is our help. The Psalmist reminds us that God's understanding presence is there 24/7. Even in the darkest and most lonely moment, we are not alone, God is watching over us.
As we approach Remembrance Sunday on the 8th November we welcome Rev Alastair Bolt to lead our service and our act of remembrance. please note that the service will begin at 10:50am so that we are ready for the National Act of Remembrance at 11am.
In the evening we are having a special Bereavement Service. An opportunity to read out the names of loved ones who are no longer with us and to light a candle in their memory. Please consider inviting someone who you know who still feels the pain of bereavement and who would find this a helpful touching place in their sadness and grief.
It is worth remembering, as the dark nights of winter surround us, God is with us, He is our helper and will not let us fall. This gives us confidence in following Jesus together
As our sermon series comes to a close this month, we reflect on the 11 values that shape what it means to be the Church. It has been a wonderful journey of exploring who we are called to be, celebrating the gifts God has given us, and renewing our commitment to remain faithful to Him. Above all, we are reminded of our shared mission to reach out to those around us, sharing the hope we have in our God, who is ever-present, faithful and always watching over us.
May we all know God's ever –present help during this coming month.

What’s coming up in November
Remembrance Sunday
On the 08 November we will be starting our Morning Service slightly earlier at 10:50am (10:45 Online) to ensure we have enough time to hold a 2 minutes silence. We ask that you take your seats by 10:50am or stay in the hall until the silence has taken place.
In the evening Jonathan will lead a Bereavement Service at 7pm. There will be the opportunity to remember those who we love but are with us no more.
Youth & Children’s Team Training | 08 November 12:30-2:15pm
All church volunteers are invited to a training session with Yvonne Morris from Faith at Home. Faith at Home is a national initiative launched by the Church of England to support the spiritual development, worship, and pastoral care of children, young people, and households.
If you serve on the Children and Youth Teams you are welcome to come along to this training. A soup lunch will be provided and booking is required. Sign up HERE
Pick & Mix Church | 22 November |11am
We are looking forward to Pick & Mix returning on Sunday 22 November. Find new ways to worship all around the church with crafts, prayer, activities and lots more. If you are new to PMCH there will be the opportunity learn more about our church, baptisms and becoming a member. All ages are welcome and why not invite a friend?
